CDC CKD Surveillance System

The CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) honors National Kidney Month and introduces the CDC CKD Surveillance System that monitors kidney disease in the US.  The MMWR can be found at http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6208a4.htm?s_cid=mm6208a4_w and the CKD Surveillance System at http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/CKD/default.aspx.  For instance, the graph and table at http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/CKD/detail.aspx?categoryId=230&indicatorId=8 shows that progress is being made at reducing early-stage CKD, but there remains a flood of patients at stage 3.
